The Newest National Trail

Exciting news for walkers and lovers of the outdoors, the Coast to Coast Walk is now officially a National Trail.

First created by Alfred Wainwright in 1973, this much-loved route stretches from St Bees all the way to Robin Hood's Bay.

Recent improvements mean better paths, clearer signage, and ongoing maintenance which makes it even more enjoyable for future walkers.

Robin Hood’s Bay is also now the meeting point of three National Trails, making it a truly special place to finish (or even continue) your journey.

If you’re planning your walk, Dock Cottage is perfectly placed just steps from the finish at the waters edge. Why not stay a few day, have a well earned rest and a chance to explore Robin Hood's Bay.

Have you ever completed the Coast to Coast, or is it on your bucket list?
