Last year was the final Victorian Weekend in Robin Hood's, which everyone was sad to see come to an end after 30 years. However, the great news is that the New Victorian Weekend is happening this December.

Once again, you can step back in time by the sea, with the Robin Hood’s Bay Advent Festival taking place throughout December, giving you three magical weekends in Robin Hood’s Bay.

Plans are slowly evolving, but at the moment it looks like this:

5th–6th December – The New Victorian Weekend
12th–13th December – Pirates and Smugglers Weekend
19th–20th December – Family Weekend

The New Victorian Weekend

The 5th-6th December 2026 will be the New Victorian Weekend in Robin Hood's Bay with costumes, music, displays and street entertainment.

The Victoria Hotel has just announced that they are taking part in the New Victorian Weekend, with “twinkling lights, festive food and drink, and a fantastic line-up of live entertainment throughout the weekend.”

The popular Black Sheep Band will be playing at the Loxley Pub on Friday 4th at 7pm.

On Saturday 5th at 1pm, the local Windmill Choir will perform traditional Christmas carols, and Carl Robinson will be performing an acoustic guitar set in the evening from 8pm.

Also, you can’t miss the much-loved Biscuit Dunking Competition on Saturday from 1.00pm–3.30pm. Get practising now to see how long you can dunk your biscuit before it is no longer a biscuit. The competition is fierce, and this year the prizes are even better.

The Victoria Hotel will round off the New Victorian Weekend with a wonderful performance of traditional songs from talented local classical singer James Hutton on Sunday at 1pm.

The Victoria Hotel is just one of the many places to visit during the festive weekend, as Robin Hood’s Bay comes alive with live music, entertainment, market stalls and local shops. As and when we get more details about what other events are happening, I’ll update you all.

If you are planning on visiting, we still (at the time of writing) have availability at Dock Cottage and Sherwood House. 

We’d also love to encourage guests to embrace the occasion and dress in Victorian attire. This really helps to transform the cobbled streets and historic buildings of the Bay into a wonderful reminder of a bygone age.
